Chic Things

chic things I love

Here are some chic things I’m loving right now.

1.    KARLIE’S COOKIES: I am a huge fan of Momafuku Milk Bar and Christina Tosi. I had the pleasure of attending a talk and cookbook signing with Christina Tosi at the Smithsonian recently.

Christina Tosi is the founding chef of Milk Bar and one of the judges on Fox’s Master Chef and Master Chef Junior. Her beloved Milk Bar bakery features creative desserts like Cereal Milk Ice Cream, Compost Cookies, and the legendary Crack Pie. It’s to die for! Milk Bar just opened in D.C. Yay! Just one more reason to visit D.C.

Milk Bar and supermodel Karlie Kloss collaborated on a fashionably wholesome baked goods line called Klossies. Not only are they vegan, gluten-free and totally delicious, but all proceeds go to several charities.

Perfect 10 is an oatmeal cookie meets an energy bar made with gluten-free oats, almonds, mini chocolate chips and sweetened with agave. For each cookie sold, ten school lunches with be provided to children in poverty around the world.

Coco Kookie, named for Coco Chanel, is wheat-free and sweetened with maple syrup, balanced with cozy, crunchy pecans and chewy coconut. Each Coco provides support to young, American fashion designers.

5 Boro Cookie is a rich and fudgy chocolate cookie, packed with dark chocolate chips, and sweetened with coconut and pineapple. Each 5 Boro donates five meals to hungry New Yorkers.

Visit a Milk Bar location in New York City, Toronto, and Washington D.C.

You can also make a batch of Coco Kookies or Perfect 10 cookies at home because I got ahold of the recipe.

I also love Christina’s cookbooks. Momafuku Milk Bar includes all the recipes from the bakery. Milk Bar Life is the follow-up cookbook and includes recipes that are easy-to-prepare. Some of my favorite recipes in Milk Bar Life are the Buckeyes and the Desperation Nachos.

2.  RICHIE DESIGN CARDS: Special occasion coming up? Avoid scanning the aisles of the drugstore for a subpar card in favor of a modern note from Richie Design. Richele Silva creates standout greeting cards with hilarious phrases to polish off any affair with plenty of fun! The moral of the story? Next time you have something to say, say it in style.

3. KEY TAGS BY VARIOUS PROJECTS: An easy way to add some sass to your routine, these Various Projects key chains make a statement while sending a message. From “I NEED MORE COFFEE” and “CRAZY CAT LADY” to “BLOGGER” and “GIRL BOSS” these key tags get the point across, no matter your personality. And at just $15 a pop, you can afford to express all of your personalities at any given moment. You can also order custom designs. These are great for gift giving.
